Role: Product Designer

The Flash Pack is a London based technical production studio. The company was born when two photographers set out to create a software platform to edit and share content from live events. 10 years on, our focus is building social first content experiences for brands and agencies activating in the UK and abroad.
We design moments people get excited about and use smart technology to capture and share them. We are known for our innovative approach to briefs, our ability to create striking creative content, and our expertise in delivering live amplification of this content both pre, during, and post-event.
We work with some of the world’s best creative agencies and also direct to brands. Our clients include Google, Apple, YouTube, Mastercard, Vogue, Cartier, Coca Cola, IWC, Vans and more.
We are on the lookout for a product designer to join the team on a freelance basis. Working closely with our senior creative technologist, the product designer is required to productise a series of pre-existing capture set ups. The ideal candidate will have experience turning technical kits into consumer friendly units.
Create design concepts and drawings to determine the best product for pre-existing technical equipment
Present product ideas to relevant team members for brainstorming
Suggest improvements to design and performance to technologists
Employ design concepts into functional prototypes
Create fabrication drawings for production teams
Create renders of products for client presentations
Perform research on product technologies and structures to implement into design concepts
Modify and revise existing designs to meet customer expectations
Relevant work experience as a product designer
Excellent knowledge of fabrication methods and techniques
Excellent eye for aesthetic design and customer appeal
Good understanding of color science and combinations
Experience or working knowledge of motorised mechanisms
Artistic and innovative flair
Excellent attention to detail
Meticulous and diligent
Strong knowledge of the industry and market trends
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
