The Flash Pack is a London based technical production studio. The company was born when two photographers set out to create a software platform to edit and share content from live events. 10 years on, our focus is building social first content experiences for brands and agencies activating in the UK and abroad.

Our product portfolio at The Flash Pack is varied, from in-house content capture tools to bespoke installations, to custom builds for broadcast and experiential activations, we create content in creative and innovative ways.
As Front End Developer you will be part of the team responsible for developing that product portfolio, taking inspiration from technology that is used in the film and photography industries to produce intuitive interfaces for software tools that are used in the field and at the studio. In addition you will assist in the delivery of customised interfaces for specific events.
As Front End Developer you will design and own the front end architecture of new products, mainly using Vue.js. You will be working closely with our Back End Developer, collaborating in authoring data structures and interfacing with REST and Web Socket based APIs. you will write clean, modular and well documented code.
You will be skilled at translating creative briefs and technical requirements, confident in contributing your own ideas and creative in finding solutions to design challenges. You will assist in scoping works, managing schedules and updating the team on progress.
You will be an excellent communicator making technical considerations easy to understand for a non-technical audience. When asked questions about functionality and feasibility you will be helpful and understanding and solutions focused. You will train our staff in the use of the software you create and keep up-to-date documentation.
A portion of this role you will assist in the delivery of customising end user facing interfaces and custom user journeys on a project by project basis according to our end clients needs. You will be able to translate design templates into functioning HTML/CSS/JS. When necessary this task may have to be completed in the field and you will be comfortable working in an event production environment on site, under pressure to tight deadlines. Other instances will require remote working and on rare occasions out-of-hours support for which there is a recompense and toil scheme.

You must be comfortable with a fast-moving workload, adapting to change and have excellent multi-tasking skills, with the ability to turn projects around quickly, whilst delivering to the highest possible standards.
You will be at least aware of GDPR and willing to learn the principles so that our software is compliant and assists in integrating with end clients’ secured data systems.
Highly proficient in HTML/CSS/JS, Vue.js or similar
Highly skilled in visual prototyping and design
Excited about the challenges of creating complex UI components that borrow from film and photography editing software
Experienced in creating technical specifications
Adheres to web standards, usability & best practices
Adept at scoping & estimating for front-end development tasks
Capable at delivering team progress reviews
Has strong programming skills and logical approach to problem solving
Experienced with Git version control
Passionate about film-making or photography
Interested in new technologies, development techniques, and upcoming trends
Has previous experience of working with back end developers
Excellent communication & influencing skills at all levels
Capable in an event production environment
Ideally is comfortable with linux and command line tools
Experience with Amazon AWS is a bonus
Knowledge of Python / Flask is a bonus
3+ years experience minimum
